Project M 1v1 Tournament
This tournament is hosted and run by the Social Gaming Club. The tournament will consist of a 1v1 double elimination bracket. Every match consists of a best of 3 games, with the championship (i.e. winner’s final vs loser’s final) culminating in a best of 5 games. The ruleset, which can be found below, consists of the standard Project M rules from Smashboards. We wish everyone the best of luck!
Lincoln Hall Room 1065
702 South Wright Street
Urbana, IL 61801
Walk-in registration starts at 12:00 PM and ends at 1:15 PM. We will not accept participants after 1:15 PM.
The first matches will start promptly at or before 1:45 PM.
We will continue the tournament until a winner is determined.
Registration, Fee, and Prizes
The fee to register and play in the tournament is $5. We will only accept cash and of the exact amount.
The prizes will be approximately 50% of the total collected fees. 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place will receive prizes. The algorithm for determining the prizes is as follows.
1st Place: 3c
2nd Place: 2c
3rd Place: 1c
c = (total fees)/12
Prizes for all three places will be rounded down to the nearest dollar amount.
As mentioned earlier, we will be using the Smashboard standard ruleset for Project M, which can be found at the link below.
We have a few additional rules to be followed as well.
1. We will be using Stagelist 1
2. Both players should come up to a Social Gaming Club officer and report who has won the match.
3. Be courteous to other participants.
All other rules provided from the link above will be followed. Also, the rulings of the SGC officer team will be final.
We will be posting a bracket of the tournament on our website after the completion of the tournament. If you would not like to have your name appear on the bracket, please let us know at registration.
What to Bring?
We will provide the consoles, games, and projectors necessary to play Project M. We will have at least two matches running at the same time. You have the option of using your own gamecube controller or one provided by the Social Gaming Club. We will bring enough controllers for all of the console setups.
We all hope you have a good time at the tournament. And be sure to check out SGC if you are a student at UIUC for more gaming related events.
