February 8th – Smash 4 Tournament
This tournament is hosted and run by the Social Gaming Club. The tournament will consist of a 1v1 double elimination bracket. Every match consists of a best of 3 games, with the championship (i.e. winner’s final vs loser’s final) culminating in a best of 5 games. The ruleset, which can be found below, consists of the standard Smash 4 rules from the Apex 2015 rulebook. The tournament will be hosted on Challonge. We wish everyone the best of luck!

Walk-in registration starts at 11:30 AM and ends at 1:00 PM.
The first matches will start promptly at or before 1:15 PM.
We will continue the tournament until a winner is determined.
Registration, Fee, and Prizes
The fee to register and play in the tournament is $8.
$5 will be added to the tournament pool and $3 will be going to SGC. Your entry fee can be waived if you bring a setup to the tournament. Please contact the club’s email if you can do so.
Please register early at the tournament’s Challonge registration page.
As mentioned earlier, we will be using the Apex 2015 standard ruleset for Smash 4, which can be found here.
Both players should come up to a Social Gaming Club officer and report who has won the match. The rulings of the SGC officer team will be final.
The bracket can be found at the tournament’s Challonge page.
What to Bring?
We will provide the consoles, games, and projectors necessary to play Smash 4. We will have at least two matches running at the same time. You have the option of using your own Gamecube controller or one provided by the Social Gaming Club. We will bring enough controllers for all of the console setups.
We all hope you have a good time at the tournament. And be sure to check out SGC if you are a student at UIUC for more gaming related events.
